This is more than a certification.

It’s a transformation.

Whether you dream of teaching yoga or simply want to deepen your understanding of the practice, this training is designed to support growth on every level.

At Body Karma Studio, Yoga Teacher Training is not just about learning poses and cueing classes. It’s about building confidence, expanding your knowledge, strengthening your personal practice, and discovering how yoga can shape the way you move through life.

You’ll be guided in a supportive, personal environment where you can grow at your own pace, ask questions, practice teaching, and develop your own authentic voice.

This training is for you if…

  • You feel called to teach yoga but do not know where to begin

  • You want to deepen your practice beyond weekly classes

  • You crave personal growth, confidence, and clarity

  • You want to better understand yoga philosophy, anatomy, breathwork, and meditation

  • You are looking for a supportive community to grow with

  • You are ready to invest in yourself in a meaningful way

You do not need to be the most advanced person in the room. You simply need curiosity, commitment, and a willingness to learn.

I’m the owner of Body Karma Studio and the course director for this training.

I began my own yoga journey in my 20s, and since opening the studio in 2013, I’ve had the privilege of guiding thousands of students through classes, workshops, and transformational experiences.

What I love most about Yoga Teacher Training is witnessing each student grow into their own voice. It is incredibly special to watch someone deepen their understanding, build confidence, and discover the kind of teacher they are meant to become.

It would be an honor to guide you on that journey.

Hi, I’m Jess.

What Graduates Are Saying

To those of you interested but hesitating to sign up for Yoga Teacher Training, like I was, I would strongly urge you to do it. Sign up and do it! I knew I wanted to dig deeper into yoga for multiple reasons but I worried about the money, the time commitment, the homework. Once I signed up, those worries were gone (well maybe there were a few Friday nights I worried about homework!). Jess has an amazing ability to meet you were you are. She is so creative in how she helps you grasp the wealth of information, that in a what is a relatively short amount of time you learn so much. Alumni had told me that this was life changing. I wasn’t sure about that, but now I would agree. It obviously changes your understanding of the practice and history of yoga, but it also builds confidence as well as changes your approach to life, all while forging great friendships with your fellow teachers. Again I say just do it!

- Paula Kinney, 2020

“It was life changing.”

“My confidence grew tremendously.”

I highly recommend the Yoga Instructor training with Jessica Demers at Body Karma Studio. It was an incredible year! Jessica led us through the journey guiding us by teaching the key aspects in a relaxed and kind environment. We each had our own learning style and were encouraged along our individual journey while at the same time being challenged to be our best. I feel that my yoga journey was deepened and strengthened and my inner confidence grew tremendously. Thank you, Jess.

-Teri Stanwix, 2018

  • This training is rooted in Hatha yoga, giving you a strong, versatile foundation. You’ll explore a range of styles—including gentle, vinyasa, and more—so you can confidently teach and adapt to different students and class settings.

  • Not at all. You don’t need to be able to do every pose to become a great teacher.

This training is about learning how to guide safe, supportive, and effective classes for real people in real bodies. You’ll grow your own practice while gaining the skills to teach others—no perfection required.

  • Yes—but it’s designed to support your growth, not overwhelm you.

Each month includes assignments that deepen your understanding of yoga. You’ll also be encouraged to take one yoga class per week and reflect on your experience—helping you build consistency, awareness, and confidence.

(As a bonus, YTT students receive 50% off classes at the studio.)

  • That’s completely okay.

Many students join simply to deepen their personal practice, build confidence, and learn more about yoga. Teaching is an option—not a requirement.

  • In most cases, yes—with mindfulness and communication.

You should always consult your doctor before beginning any program. During training, you’ll be encouraged to modify, adapt, or skip anything that doesn’t feel right in your body—just like in any class at the studio.

Learning how to work with different bodies (including your own) is a valuable part of becoming a teacher.

  • No formal prerequisites are required.

A basic familiarity with yoga is helpful, but more important is your willingness to learn, grow, and show up for the process.

  • We understand that life happens.

You’re allowed to miss up to 4 sessions. If you do, you’ll be responsible for the material covered and will schedule a private review session with an instructor ($40/hour) to stay on track.

    • The $500 deposit is non-refundable

    • You may withdraw by September 23, 2026 with no additional balance due

    • After that date, the full program balance is required, regardless of completion

  • No—and that’s intentional.

While our training meets and exceeds industry standards, we’ve chosen not to register with Yoga Alliance. We prioritize real education, hands-on experience, and meaningful mentorship over paying for a registry that does not actively oversee or assess program quality.

Our focus is simple: to graduate confident, capable teachers.

Since 2016, our graduates have gone on to teach in studios, hospitals, gyms, schools, and more. If you have questions about this, we’re always happy to talk it through.
