The new moon is a time of rebirth, renewal, and reflection. It offers a reminder to clarify our intentions and ask the universe for assistance in realizing them.

The new year represents new beginnings, a time to reflect and release what is no longer serving you as set the intention for the upcoming year. This is a powerful time to start the process of manifesting your desires.

The practice will begin with breath work and intention. You will then be guided into a be, do, have manifestation meditation using visualization.

We will then move into gentle poses, releasing stuck energy. Finally, transitioning to gentle therapeutic Restorative yoga poses to quiet the mind and restore the central nervous system.

Mindful Mindset Meditation Workshop

Mediation is a powerful tool for stress reduction, reducing anxiety, and creating a sense of calmness in the body and mind. Mindfulness meditation creates the opportunity to connect in the present moment and move through the minds entanglements of thoughts, worries, emotions, etc. With practice, participants are able to enter stressful situations with a sense of equanimity and clarity.


This workshop will explore various types of meditation such as, mindfulness, guided, metta, etc. As well as ways to use them in your everyday life. The 90 minutes will include instruction and meditation, as well as, take home information for further practice!

Yoga Block

Breath, Balance and Alignment: Building with Yoga and Tai Chi

We will show you how to use your breath to guide your movements. Then incorporate Tai Chi Chuan, an excellent way to demonstrate movement and breath while improving balance and coordination.

Happy Hips 6 Week Series

Saturdays, January 15 to February 19, 2022       11:00 to noon

We always listen to your request here at BKS, that is why we are introducing our first 6 week Happy Hips Series! Join Jess for playful, informative sessions centered around the hips, which, are often tight due to our lifestyles sitting too much and/or improper alignment when standing and moving. When hips are tight they increase the load and cause overuse of the spine, which in turn, can cause pain, injury.


Additional benefits include improved range of motion, better circulation, and decreased pain. Opening the hips can create an energetic shift or release as well. Yogic tradition holds the hips as a storage ground for negative feelings and pent-up emotions, especially ones related to control in our lives.


The series will include a mix of gentle to moderate yoga poses, building week to week.

Plank It Workshop

The plank, a pose of many benefits and challenges. Plank pose strengthens the core and arms, increase muscle definition, reduces back pain, increases metabolism and more. The group will support and inspire each other. Also this format will help to keep everyone on track and accountable to achieve maximum success.

You don't need to be an artist to participate. All you need is a desire to try something new to live your dreams.

This is a 12 week commitment to you! Group will meet in Jess's office above the studio. You will be required to purchase "The Artist Way" book and a journal or notebook to work with.

In this workshop you will gain deeper awareness of these energy centers, creating more balance and stability in the subtle body.

Using a combination of gentle asanas, pranayama, meditation, chanting and/or affirmations we will look for and open blocks within the Chakra system. Allowing the energy to flow freely will promote healing and decrease fatigue, illness, stress, and more!

Opening the Heart (plus the shoulders and upper back) Workshop will work the shoulders and upper back then focus on spreading love into the world with relaxing restorative poses.
The workshop will begin with deep breathing techniques to strengthen the inner costal muscles, open the rib cage and thoracic cavity. The offer various poses designed to stretch and strengthen the shoulders, upper back, and chest. Ending with a guided meditation to open the thought and emotional heart space, with restful restorative poses.

Woman's Back

Restful Yoga for the Back Workshop

Friday, February 25, 2022       5:30 to 7:00 pm

Back pain is a common affliction for many. It can range from a slight stiff annoyance to a very painful debilitating experience.

During this workshop we will explore common types and reasons for back pain. Jess will review the anatomy of the back so you have the knowledge and can feel empowered when caring for your physical body.

Then we will use a series of gentle poses to carefully stretch the back. Focusing on the cervical spine, thoracic spine, lumbar spine and the hips to help pin point what movements help us.

The class will end with a restful savasana to soak up the maximum benefits of your time.

Candlelight Restorative Yoga Workshop

Take time out of your busy life to let go and renew. Restorative Yoga is a gentle therapeutic style of yoga that uses props to support the body in restful still positions. The focus is to quiet the mind and restore the central nervous system. It a soothing and nurturing practice, aided by the soothing glow of soft candlelight. Deeply relax and feel refreshed after an hour and a half group session.
