Restorative yoga is a soothing type of yoga, that encourages practitioners to slow down and open the body through passive stretches. With the use of props, sound, guided meditation, breath works, adjustments, aromatherapy, and/or adjustments restorative yoga teachers help their students into a deep state of active relaxation. Thus, slipping out of the sympathetic nervous system, and into the parasympathetic nervous system where healing begins.
This training is designed to teach you how to create a restorative yoga class for anyone. During the weekend you will learn the basic fundamentals of teaching restorative yoga; basic anatomy, use of props, and other tools to create a class that allows practitioners to renew, relax, let go and heal.
This class is open to all, you do not need to be a yoga teacher to participate.

Candlelight Restorative Yoga Workshop

Take time out of your busy life to let go and renew. Restorative Yoga is a gentle therapeutic style of yoga that uses props to support the body in restful still positions. The focus is to quiet the mind and restore the central nervous system. It a soothing and nurturing practice, aided by the soothing glow of soft candlelight. Deeply relax and feel refreshed after an hour and a half group session.

Yoga For Sensitive Knees Workshop

Friday, March 3, 2023 5:30pm - 7pm
Knee sensitivity is a common complaint in yoga classes. When performed mindfully many yoga poses can help prevent knee problems, regain strength and flexibility.
During this workshop we will explore poses that strengthens the muscles around the knees. Then stretch the hips and legs. Additionally, we will explore modifications and changes to common poses to make them more accessible for those with knee issues.

Chakra Yoga 8 Week Series

Saturdays, March 4 to April 22, 2023 9:45am - 10:45am
In the yoga tradition, the seven primary Chakras are known as the body's subtle energy centers.
In this 8 week series we will gain deeper awareness of these energy centers, creating more balance and stability in the subtle body by focusing on one chakra center each week.
Using a combination of gentle asanas, pranayama, meditation, chanting and/or affirmations we will look for and open blocks within each Chakra. This will allow energy to flow freely will promote healing and decrease fatigue, illness, stress, and more!

This series is for you!
Each week we will explore various techniques to reduce stress and quell feelings of anxiety. Including EFT Tapping, aromatherapy, meditation, movement and breathing. Learn where stress comes from, how it affects your physical body and why it is so hard to let go.
This group is limited to 7 participants. Group will meet in Jess's office above the studio.

Chair Yoga Teacher Training

Open to all, you do not need to be a yoga teacher to participate!
This training is for yoga teachers, nursing home/assisted living employees, classroom teachers, OTs, PTs, social works, therapist and others who are looking to provide a safe exercise program for clients and friends. The program designed to teach you how to create a chair yoga class for anyone!
During the weekend you will learn the basic fundamentals of teaching chair yoga; basic anatomy, poses, modifications, pranayama, meditation and more. You will be able to create a class that improves strength, flexibility, balance, stability and focus for your clients. Introduction to meditation and pranayama (breathing techniques) will also be included, teaching you how to help your clients fully relax and reduce stress and anxiety. You will have the opportunity to lead practices with your peers in the classroom setting to gain confidence in cueing, public speaking, sequencing, and classroom management.
After completion of the 16 hour in person training, all participants will be required to teach 4 chair yoga classes within a 3 month period. An assessment form will be provided to have clients complete after class, as well as a self-assessment form. Upon completion of your 4 chair yoga classes you will have a one on one meeting with the course director to review assessments and receive your certificate of completion.

Are you ready to take the next step on your creative journey?
Feeling blocked or stuck in life, not sure what to do next? In life, business and/or creativity/art?
Join Kris Reaske in her office for a 13 week series inspired by the classic book "Walking in This World" by Julia Cameron. This is the second book in the inspiring “Artist's Way” series.
The group will support, inspire and help keep each other on track. We will work with the tools highlighted in the book to create habits and tasks that will help you fulfill your dreams. This is a 13 week commitment to YOU!
You don't need to be an artist to participate. It may be helpful to be aware of but not necessary to have participated in an Artist's Way group to take part. All you need is a desire to try something new to live your dreams.
Please bring a copy of the book the "Walking in This World" and a journal or notebook.
