Happy Hips Workshop

Saturday, January 11, 2020       10:30 to Noon

One of the most common requests in yoga is hip for openers, something many of us just love to hate. So many of us spend the majority of the day sitting at our desks now, which, shorten the hip flexors (front of hip) and tighten the hip rotators (back).
Hip openers are so important for many reasons. When hips are tight, they increase the load and cause overuse of the spine. Additional benefits include improved range of motion, better circulation, and decreased back pain. Opening the hips can create an energetic shift or release as well. Yogic tradition holds the hips as a storage ground for negative feelings and pent-up emotions, especially ones related to control in our lives.
This workshop will include a series of gentle to moderate yoga poses that focus on opening the hips and releasing negative emotions.

Yoga Sculpt 6 Week Series

Tuesdays, January 14 - February 18        5:30 to 6:45 pm

Looking to tone and strengthen your arms, legs, and core? Join Jess for this fun 6 week yoga based sculpting series. Using a variety of movements participants will burn calories, sculpt, tone, and energize. It's nevery too early to get ready for for beach season!!!!
All classes will be 75 minutes long to ensure a full hour workout, as well as, proper stretching time, and a lengthy, relaxing savasana!

Zumba Toning 6 Week Series

Saturdays, January 25 - February 29        10:15 to 11:15 am

Zumba Toning is perfect for those who want to party, but put extra emphasis on toning and sculpting to define those muscles! The challenge of adding resistance by using or light weights, helps you focus on specific muscle groups, so you (and your muscles) stay engaged! The weights enhances sense of rhythm and coordination, while toning target zones, including arms, core and lower body.

Restorative Yoga Workshop

Take time out of your busy life to let go and renew at our Restorative Yoga Workshop. Restorative Yoga is a gentle therapeutic style of yoga that uses props to support the body in restful still positions. The focus is to quiet the mind and restore the central nervous system. It a soothing and nurturing practice. Deeply relax and feel refreshed after an hour and a half group session.

Bring your partner, friend, sibling, or child to this 90 minute playful and fun Partner Yoga Workshop. You and your partner will help each other build strength, gain flexibility, and balance using a series of standing, seated, back bending postures and more. This workshop will strengthen your relationship by fostering communication and trust. All ages and and abilities are welcome to attend this fun and unique event!

New Moon Yoga Workshop

Sunday, February 23, 2020       5:30 to 7:00 pm

The new moon is a time of rebirth, renewal, and reflection. It offers a reminder to clarify our intentions and ask the universe for assistance in realizing them.
The practice will begin with breath work, encouraging you to focus on the breath throughout the session. At this time participants will be encouraged to reflect on their intention for the new moon phase. We will then move into gentle poses to warm up the body and release stuck energy. Next, transitioning to gentle therapeutic Restorative Yoga poses, using props to support the body in restful still positions. The focus is to quiet the mind and restore the central nervous system. It a soothing and nurturing practice. You will feel refreshed and energized as you move through your week after an 90 minute group session.

Earth Connection Cermony

Sunday, March 8, 2020       5:30 to 7:15

Join Jess for 90 minutes of grounding and renewal by connecting to the earth.
Our journey will begin with Ceremonial Grade Cacao, "the food of the Gods" as it was referred to by the ancient Mayans. It is said to connect us to our deeper self and heart center. We will then use natural elements (shells, water, crystals, and more) to set an intention and slip into meditation. Followed by restful restorative yoga asanas enhanced by natural aromatherapy. Finally ending with a peaceful savasana that will incorporate many of our natural elements to ground and connect to the earth's energy.
Please bring your journal, as space will be held at the end of the event for reflective journaling and/or sharing.

Spring Detox Yoga Workshop

Spring is a time of renewal as flowers and trees bloom in the warm spring sun. Our bodies, in tune with Mother Nature, crave a renewal, cleansing, and blossoming in the spring as well. Join Jess for an energetic purifying yoga workshop, designed to stimulate the body to remove toxins and promote healing.
As we move through the world we absorb many toxins (preservatives, pesticides, heavy metals, etc), even our own bodies produce toxins through digestion. The digestive, endocrine, and circulatory systems eliminate these toxins naturally. Unfortunately too much sugar, alcohol, processed food, caffeine, stress, and lack of exercise can slow the body’s detoxifying process. Resulting in fatigue and poor digestion.
In this workshop you learn some simple detoxifying tricks you can use at home. Practice a dynamic series of twist to stimulate the internal organs to release toxins. As well as, practice pranayama techniques that ignite energy from within.
