Come experience the calming properties of Restorative Yoga. Together we will explore the effect  it has on our ability to sink into a peaceful, sleep-like state of mind, and how we might be able to tap into these relaxing techniques to help fall asleep and promote deeper, more restorative rest.

In this series, we will take a look inside the world of our dreams: where they come from, what they might mean, what we can learn from them and how they affect us. In each session, we will exchange our stories and try to help each other interpret their messages. We will also explore relaxation and mediation techniques for the purpose of creating a more restful, restorative sleep experience. Please join us on this imaginative and thought-provoking journey.

Each participant will receive a neck pillow as a gift to enhance the restful experience.

Rest and Empower Day Retreat

Give yourself a day of rest and empowerment at the beautiful The Sound Retreat in Chester CT. This will be time to participate in deep self care and discover tools to empower you to live authentically.

 

The day will begin with an opening circle that will include introductions, review of the day, collective intention setting, and opportunity to share. Following this will be a very gentle yoga session.

 

You will be invited to relax and get comfortable for an empowerment themed hypnotherapy session with Michelle from Calming Heart and Mind Hypnosis. Hypnosis is an effective, natural, powerful tool that can help you to overcome obstacles and realize your best life.

 

 

The day will also include a space for journaling, intuitive free writing, or sketching, Reflection and discussion and sharing for those drawn to so. An empowerment group activity, to help release what is no longer serving you. As well as, a vegan lunch with time to connect and share over the meal.

 

Wrapping it all up with a powerful sound immersion experience, followed by a short closing ceremony. The sound immersion uses a variety of instruments such as crystal bowls, gongs, chimes and drums to create a soothing soundscape that ushers the conscious into a deeply relaxed, calm, peaceful, meditative state.

 

The Sound Retreat is located at 96 Cedar Lake Road, Chester CT. Please bring a yoga mat and blanket. Wear comfortable clothing and sneakers. Weather permitting, some of this event will be outdoors so you may consider sunblock, bug spray, and loose layered clothing. Lunch, water, a selection of teas, and materials will be provided, Please email jessica@bodykarmastudio.com upon registration with any allergies or dietary restrictions.

Knee sensitivity is a common complaint in yoga classes. When performed mindfully many yoga poses can help prevent knee problems, regain strength and flexibility.


During this workshop we will explore poses that strengthens the muscles around the knees. Then stretch the hips and legs. Additionally, we will explore modifications and changes to common poses to make them more accessible for those with knee issues.

Harness the power of the November full frost moon. The full moon is the perfect time to reflect on the previous lunar cycle and practice gratitude for all that we have manifested. Paired with a  Yin yoga practice, a slower paced practice done seated or reclined. Yin is perfect for the winter season. It reminds us to slow down and go inward to cultivate a frosty yin energy. Poses are held on an average of 3 to 20 minutes depending on the level of the practitioner. While holding the yogi is encouraged to soften and relax into the posture, allowing the connective tissues (particularly in the joints) to stretch and release tension. Props are encouraged in this practice and modifications are offered to assist in finding your edge.

Calming the mind and body, leaving you to feel energized, focused, and open to fully enjoy life!
